Frequently Asked Questions

Most of my work is fired to cone ten (2300F) reduction.

I use stoneware and some porcelain.

Mostly I throw on a kick wheel (I like the rhythm of the kick wheel), as opposed to an electric wheel.

I do some handbuilding and some altering of thrown pieces.

I build the faces onto my jugs after I throw them.

I do not use lead in my glazes, I’ve always figured I’m putting my hands into the glazes and breathing in the dust and I don’t want lead in my body.

I have been playing with low fire now that I have a small test kiln.

The advantage to low fire is the bright colors you just can’t get with high fire.

My pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe.

I do custom work and special orders, email me for details.

If you see something you like and want to make sure it’ll be at a given event send an email.
